Should I get a metal DDR pad?
I’m used to playing DDR at home on my soft pad, but keep staring with envy at the metal pads. However, my wife says that it will be a pain, so some key questions:
How easy is it to put away – can it stand on end? Is it stable when standing or will it fall over and kill our kids? Will it hurt our floor? What do we need to put under it to play?

Well, I bought one and it’s alright. Much better than a soft pad to do the hard songs in DDR. Soft pads usually are for starters and hard pads are usually for serious Heavy mode players. It is easy to put away and I just lean mine against the wall to play it later on. You don’t really need anything underneath the pad and it does not harm your floor as far as I know. Since its heavy and leaning against a wall a strong force is needed for it to tip and fall down. If it happend to fall on a small child it would do some lethal damage (mainly the head.) To avoid this I would just store it in a closet or under a bed for safty. Other than that it’s durable and solid. Thanks for the great question and hope this helps in any way.
